Description
Comfortably accommodating four guests, but making a romantic retreat if booked just for two, Villa Egnazia is a glass fronted house, with crisp white décor and an uncluttered style. Outside, a brick-laid driveway leads to very extensive and beautifully lawns, punctuated with old olive trees, and screened for privacy with high hedges and white walls draped in bougainvillea. Inside is an open-plan living area, the clean lines of a contemporary kitchen raised three steps above the sitting/dining room, where floor to ceiling windows look out to the garden and pool. The monochrome interiors are spiced here and there with mustard highlights; local ceramics and there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a chic shower room in bronzy earth tones. A door from the kitchen leads out to a furnished decked dining area, shaded by a huge tree with lighting and overlooking the pool; the sitting room opens on to the lawns, with seats; and there are ample sun loungers and an outdoor shower on the paved poolside terrace. This is a very private spot and in an excellent location -within 2.5km of beach clubs with restaurants and non-motorised watersports in Savelletri and Capitolo and further restaurants are within easy reach. The villa is also just 4.5km from Fasano, for trains to Lecce (98km away). Villa Egnazia is 100% powered by sunlight so they keep a real commitment towards the environment. Owners have an agreement with a farmer nearby where guests can take fresh vegetables with a small contribution.
