Description
Restored from a former wine press, this charming property is set in the foothills of Mount Etna with far reaching panoramic views over the rolling hills below and out to sea. There are magnificent views from many different terraces of the extensive gardens planted with borders of yellow and white roses – from the principal shaded dining terrace of the main villa with outside kitchen, the shaded seating area by the pool or from the terrace outside the pool annexe. The principal part of the property is the former wine press which has been retained as a feature in the sitting room, (with steps and different levels) where the kitchen area, dining and sitting area have been creatively ‘placed’ around this structure. Off this room, there is a pretty double bedroom and an adjacent room opening to the outside with two sofa beds, suitable for older children. The spacious shower room is across the sitting room. Outside a wide flight of steps lead down through the gardens to the panoramic large pool and further down to the pool annexe. Again, the space in this compact building has been creatively used with a double bed on a mezzanine accessed by a narrow iron staircase and a sitting area, kitchen and shower room at ground floor level. This accommodation is most suitable for young adults. This is also an excellent location – shops and restaurants in local villages of Trecastagni and Pedara are a short drive away. Pleasurable day trips can be spent discovering the picturesque villages and excellent vineyards and restaurants nestling in the foothills of Mount Etna, walking and day trips to the beach. Lively Taormina, Catania and Siracusa are also within easy reach.
