Description
The perfect marriage of modern comforts and classical style, this restored 17th Century farmhouse really is as gorgeous as it looks. Less than an half an hour from Siena, it’s a perfectly private retreat that enjoys a spectacular setting in the rolling hills of the Chianti region. There are wine estates nearby and traditionally Tuscan cypress-studded views, while tiny medieval hamlets are just down the road.
This villa has a high spec both inside and out. The gorgeous stone exterior is traditionally classic, and blends perfectly with the rounded sunken swimming pool out back – it’s an instant eye-catcher that’s framed beautifully with cast-iron loungers and a generous grey stone patio. There’s plenty of room for a sunbathe or a spot of downtime, as well two large terraces with pergolas which feature Travertine marble tables for those lazy breakfasts, long lunches or warm evening al fresco meals. Inside, the villa is super classy, with an elegance throughout that screams rustic sophistication. Old world buffered cream colored walls are complemented with rich wooden accents, whether that’s the beautiful beamed ceilings, dark wooden window panes or the hand-carved furniture, bespoke to the villa. Expect antique mirrors, Florentine hand painted cabinets and hand forged chandelier lighting in every room – there’s also lovely authentic artefacts and terracotta tiled floors throughout, which add a traditional luxury to the country design. The lounge is beautiful, with plush sofas and a large TV for maximum comfort, and there’s a custom-designed Tuscan kitchen which is a glorious setting for stay in meals. There are seven bedrooms in the villa – the main house sleeps 10, while a further 4 can stay in the poolside granary. All of the bedrooms are very shabby-chic in look and feel – luxurious beds combine with a modern en-suite decorated in a traditional Tuscan marble.
